How licensing works
A licence counts two things: the machines SPSync runs on, and the families of destination it writes to. It runs for a year with Standard Support included. We do not publish a price list or sell on this site. Book a call, tell us the targets and the number of machines, and you will have a quote within one business day.
A worked example
An operations team replicates its SharePoint lists into SQL Server for Power BI, and a developer copies two of the same lists into PostgreSQL for an internal app. The team runs the desktop app on one analyst's laptop while it gets started, then moves the scheduled runs to the command line on a server. That is two machines and one target family, because SQL Server and PostgreSQL are both relational databases. If the team later wants the same data in Azure AI Search, it adds the search family to the existing licence.
Per installation
A licence is activated on the machine that runs SPSync: a laptop with the desktop app, or a server running the command line. Each activated machine is one seat. You can deactivate a machine and move its seat to another at any time, and machines that cannot reach the activation service can be issued an offline key on request.
Per target family
Destinations are grouped into three families. A licence names the families it covers, and every destination in a licensed family is included, now and as new ones ship. You can start with one family and add another later, priced as the difference.
| Family | Includes |
|---|---|
| Relational databases | SQL Server, Azure SQL, Dataverse, PostgreSQL, Supabase, Neon, MySQL, MariaDB, Oracle, SQLite |
| Warehouses and lakes | DuckDB, MotherDuck, Parquet, Azure Data Lake, Iceberg, Delta Lake, ClickHouse, BigQuery, Databricks |
| Search and vector stores | Azure AI Search, Elasticsearch, OpenSearch, pgvector, LanceDB, Qdrant, Weaviate |
Unlimited lists, items and sites
No licence caps the number of rows, items, lists or sites. A seat that replicates one small list costs the same as a seat that replicates a hundred large ones.
Term and support
Licences run for one year and renew annually, and multi-year terms are available on request. Every licence has Standard Support included. Email support on every licence is part of that. Teams that need more can add Priority Support for a faster reply, Teams screen-share sessions and a named contact.
In your Azure
SPSync in your Azure, a managed application for your own subscription, is deployed with you on a call while the Marketplace listing is prepared. It is licensed per deployment and target family on the same annual terms, with Standard Support included. It is bought with a licence key and invoiced directly. We deploy it with you: book a call.
Getting a quote
Twenty minutes on a call is enough to size a licence. Bring the targets you need and the number of machines or tenants, and leave with a quote.
